We first met Lee + Michelle at the Fresno Wedding Show back in March 2013. When we met again in April, Michelle shared the story of how Lee proposed and in-between tears of joy explained how Lee had surprised her with a 100 year old ring, an heirloom from Bob, a dear friend of the family. You see, Bob has passed on but the memory of him will always be in her heart.
Lee proposed to Michelle on her birthday. They'd been together for 9 years but on this special occasion he decided to take her to Pismo Beach where he would surprise her with a very special ring. So, while she was in the shower he snuck out to hide her birthday gift in the sand! (In retrospect, he claims it probably wasn't the best idea to hide it in the sand). He knew she was passionate about pirates and decided to create a treasure map for her to go in search for her birthday gift. He carefully thought it out and planned out every detail, it was only 50 steps to the ring, or so he thought. After all, this ring would bring her tears of joy. After handing her the treasure map to look for her gift, he quickly realized that he had miscalculated the steps and the location of the ring. Panic quickly overtook Lee and he began to frantically dig in the sand. After what seemed like an eternity to find her gift, Michelle soon discovered the ring. She quickly recognized the ring and began to cry tears of joy!
Michelle and Lee drove from Bakersfield, CA and it was all about Football + Pirates + Red, Hot, Sexy Heels! Making it for a very romantic and fun engagement session!
That's right! This girl can throw a football!
There is always pressure of finding the right locations for our couples, but telling us of the fun things they love to do during their spare time makes things so much easier. So when we met with Michelle and Lee to talk about their engagement session and discovered their love for pirates, we could hear and feel the wheels in our brain begin to turn. Black Beards was the perfect spot for a fun filled day!
